Prof. Wierzbicki was a visiting professor at the University of Bicocca in Milano. He was lecturing on “Cross-Media for Tourism” in the master track “Comunicazione per il turismo” of Prof. Cesare Massarenti. The teaching was part of the ERASMUS programme.
An agreement between the University of Applied Sciences in Mittweida and the the University of Bicocca in Milano was signed in February which includes student exchange: 2 undergraduated and 2 graduated students from each side for one semester per academic year.

In December the EVA (European Virtual Academy) project was kicked-off in Cluj, the capital of Transylvania in Romania. The goal of the EVA project is to build a virtual campus of visual culture studies. The EVA project is funded by the European Union Lifelong Learning Programme and runs until the end of 2012.
The EVA partners are Babeş-Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj, Romania (coordinator), University of Milano-Bicocca (BIC), Milano, Italy, Hochschule Mittweida – University of Applied Sciences (HSMW), Mittweida, Germany, Sapientia Hungarian University of Transilvania (SHUT), Cluj, Romania and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK).

The GAMECAST project running at the University of Applied Sciences Mitweida and sponsored 2009 – 2010 by the Saxon State Ministry for Science and the Arts closes out in December 2010. A follow-up research funding for 2011 has been requested.

Robert J. Wierzbicki was visiting Professor at the College of Dunaujvaros in Hungary. Prof. Wierzbicki was teaching in the classes of Gábor Klucsik, lecturer in Multimedia at the College. Topics of interests were interactive storytelling, digital art and converged media. Also, collaboration and teacher’s exchange within the Erasmus Programme were discussed.
