The Polish American Film Society announced the 15th Annual Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles (October 7 – 16, 2014) celebrating the greatest achievements of Polish filmmakers. The festival will open on October 7, 2014 with star-studded gala during which both Polish and American moviemakers will walk the red carpet at Hollywood’s legendary Egyptian Theatre, an extravagant start to a ten-day-long celebration of Polish Cinema through October 16, 2014 with subsequent screenings at the Laemmle’s NoHo 7 and Royal Theaters.

The 3th European Conference on eLearning – ECEL 2014 – will be held at Aalborg University Copenhagen, Denmark on 30-31 October 2014.

ECEL invites contributions for academic research, case studies and work-in-progress/posters, PhD research papers, proposals for roundtable discussions, non-academic contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes.

Most of feature films presented at NYPFF was awarded and have been earning wide acclaim on numerous international festivals. “Wałesa : Man of Hope” ( Wałęsa: Czlowiek z nadziei) by Master of Polish cinema (and our festival’s Honorary Patron) Andrzej Wajda, is an amazing story of “Solidarity” leader and was Poland’s Oscar submission this year.

Prof. Wierzbicki and Peter Böhnke continue their research on human behaviour utilising virtual environmants.
Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Peter Böhnke is member of a Junior Research Group at the University of Applied Sciences in Mittweida. The research is beeing done within the context of the project PrävEm supported by The European Social Fund (ESF) and the Saxon Ministry of Science and the Fine Arts (SMWK) in 2013.
The research follows the concept of “Blended Nurture” which aims at modelling social and/or personal behaviour through participation in virtual reality based games (“Nurture Games”) combined with a moderated live part. A coach (psychologist) must ensure that experiences are correctly classified and that the correct behavioral patterns become fixed in the mind.
